There is method (history) in madness (geopolitics). We stand back confused looking at the state of the world when we forget the historic and cultural reasons for decisions taken by the principal political actors. The articles presented in this volume were published between April 2022 and October 2023. Their aim is to point out the relevant historical background which has shaped and informed current events. They are not aimed at seizing the moment, but rather explaining some long-term narratives which are defining choices made by the protagonists of today’s political affairs.
